100-Word Review: Nathan Detroit – Peace of Mind

Nathan Detroit - Peace of MindNathan Detroit are a 5-piece pop-punk combo from Wiltshire. Peace of Mind is their third release in two years, their ethos seeming to be to get material out frequently while it’s fresh.

Four track EPs are a good way to get to know a band, although Nathan Detroit admit that their sound is evolving al the time. This release captures them at the moment, and you may find that sound has changed by the time the next release comes around.

Right now, they’re typically bouncy though not afraid to dial things down a bit for a near-maudlin intro such as for “I Will Always Be Part of This World”.

Twin guitars play well off each other and the rhythm is spot on for pogo-ing to. A confident release from a young band.

Peace Of Mind will be released Digitally and Physically (CD & Vinyl) via St. November Records on 11th August 2014.
