Not to be confused with Ireland’s Psykosis, Sykosis (wouldn’t it be great to have them touring together?) are an experimental groove, hardcore and shock metal act. The latter tag apparently relates more to their live show where they aim to provide some kind of stage performance rather than just playing a few tracks and walking off stage.
To this end, they’ve gone the Slipknot route of being a large group (seven members) and wear masks. Their names aren’t any type of secret, though – the appearance is very much geared towards the live act.
The music is very much on the heavy end of the spectrum and the songsĀ deal with the “demons” of life, such as poverty, abuse, torture, love loss, betrayal, and war.
Their self-financed 2012 album,Ā The Ghost of a Killer, led to a deal with Ferocious Records and the release ofĀ The Act of Vengeance earlier this year.
