If you like your metal to be loud, aggressive, and laden with enough testosterone to level a stadium full of teenage wrestling fans, then Louder Still are just the band for you. The English quartet have set themselves the goal of bringing back that sweet NWOBHM sound that has gone so amiss in recent decades. We here at The Moshville Times have been lucky enough to hear their upcoming single Speed Machine.
The track really packs a punch, demanding the listener’s full attention from the initial guitar riff, to the final drumbeat. The mix of guitarist George Twydell’s tenacious ability, playing a continuous riff that will undoubtedly get stuck in your head for days, coupled alongside the hard vocals of Tom Rampton are a match made in heaven, making it impossible to not get up and dance along to this love-letter to an age of rock unfortunately long gone.
No song is complete without a music video, and what a video “Speed Machine” has. Shot in black and white for a real tonal effect, the video shows two men racing one another for a bet, whilst cutting to shots of the band playing on the same track that the cars are racing on. The combination of heavy rock and a high-adrenaline drag race come together perfectly. Let’s be honest, there’s little else which could match together quite as well! You’ll be able to see it soon…!
Definitely a group to keep an eye, and an ear, on.
Louder Still’s upcoming single Speed Machine will be released on the 2nd of June.
