Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We’re spread out across Norwich and London.
How did you meet?
We were doing jury service in Plymouth and in between convicting we realised there was a shared love of the Australian psych scene
How long have you been playing as a band?
Our first show was November 2022, so we’re relatively new – like a Dyson that’s not seen that much action.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
During a heated game of poker while holidaying in Seville, one of my (Tommy’s) opponents leaned over to me and said you’re ‘You’re a cheating c***’. I deliberately misheard them and the name stuck.
What are your influences?
Whatever is bubbling under the Earth’s mantle whenever the five of us are in a room together.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?
It’s like someone locked Tame Impala in a tent for years and fed him acid? What makes us unique? We tend to have better trousers than most other bands on the scene.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
Everything comes from one holiday we had in Telford in 2021. A lot happened on that fateful weekend, ranging from visits to the National Trust to trying (unsuccessfully) to order a kebab from the local late-night takeaway joint.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Have you ever seen a grizzly bear make two sharp swipes on a red oak? It’s similar to that – ferocious and a bit scary.
We’re onto about 30 shows, give or take.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
One time our flautist Rob thought he’d forgo our set’s opener for a nearby salsa dance session. The remaining four members managed to adlib the entirety of Chekov’s Seagull while he arrived – the audience wasn’t particularly amused.
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
Whatever has been gifted to us by our benefactor on a given evening.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
We released our debut EP Glow on Catch 21 Records over the autumn (2024) so we’re still in that cycle.
What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
Setting off on our first national tour in February 2025, so a rigorous gym routine to prepare us for the highs and lows of van-life.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you?
Black Magik Caravan from Norwich would be the opener, and our dream person to support would be those psych-pop legends Faux Real.
