Single Review: Drop Out – “Regression”

This one dropped into the mailbox a little while ago and I had a few minutes between working, doing work and getting some work done so I popped it on and… holy hell. I don’t think I’ve heard a track drop-tune so much, with incredible volume, without making my speakers shit themselves before. This is some good mixing and mastering!

There are definite Slipknot influences (the band do label themselves a nu-metal, so that’s probably expected) but they’re no rip-off. This is also no fast-paced thrasher, it’s heavy. It’s chugging. It’s angry. It’s brutal. And you should go listen to it now.

Best of all, you can grab it on their Bandcamp for “pay what you want” (which does include nothing, but come on… throw them some pennies).

“Regression” is the group’s first standalone single, recorded and mixed by Austin Minney at Aces High Studio, and mastered by bones.
