Feeder – single review and tour details

Feeder - All Bright ElectricFeeder were one of my favourite bands when I was at school during their hay-day some fifteen years ago, so their recent announcement of a new tour, album and single unearthed some fond memories.

On 15 July, just over a week after announcing a UK tour this Autumn, the band posted a video for new single “Universe of Life” (scroll down to watch), together with a release date for their new album – All Bright Electric.

“Universe Of Life” has a similar sound to the band’s previous couple of albums, so I will be interested to hear if the rest of the album takes the same direction, and if there will be some new crowd-favourites like “Just A Day” and “Buck Rogers”.

All Bright Electric will be Feeder’s ninth studio album following Generation Freakshow in 2012. During the four-year hiatus guitarist Taka Hinrose and vocalist Grant Nicholas did a short stint as Renegades in 2010 (refusing to play any of the fan-favourite Feeder tracks in favour of the new heavier songs), and in August 2014 Nicholas released solo album Yorktown Heights, followed by mini-album Black Clouds in April 2015.

Feeder’s ninth studio album All Bright Electric is out 30th September 2016 and they embark on a UK in September / October.
