OK, there’s your new sub-genre of the day… “flametal”. Flamenco meets metal. One of those things that just shouldn’t work – like chocolate and bacon, white wine with a red meat dish or Ricky Gervais and scriptwriting (OK, so to be fair, that last one’s still to produce something that’s not painful, IMHO).
Cordoba Guitars have sponsored a video featuring a staggeringly talented chap called Ben Woods rattling off this unique version of the Rust In Peace classic on a flamenco guitar, sounding like two alternating leads and a rhythm all on one instrument. Mindblowing.
