Ingested get in your face and brutal with new video “Pantheon”

UK death metal outfit Ingested have unleashed their latest single, “Pantheon”, upon the masses. This brutalizing new track is taken from the band’s upcoming full-length album, The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams, slated for release on April 5th via Metal Blade Records.

Since their fifth album, Where Only God May Tread, released in 2020, Ingested has been on an unstoppable creative streak, churning out nearly a full record every year. Each release showcases the band’s musical evolution, a result of their dedication to constant practice, performance, and songwriting. The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams not only matches the innovation and brutality of their previous album, Ashes Lie Still,Ā but also demonstrates the band’s willingness to push their creative boundaries while retaining the ferocity that has solidified their reputation as one of the most formidable technical death metal acts.

With ten incisive new tracks, Ingested delivers a relentless assault on the senses. “Pantheon”, the latest single, is a blistering amalgamation of shifting tempos, abrupt rhythm changes, and devastating guitar work punctuated by staccato midsections.

While Ingested maintained their creative momentum during the making of The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams, they grappled with personal struggles and setbacks in recent years. These challenges, reflected in the album’s title, symbolize the relentless trials and tribulations of life and career-building. Vocalist Jason Evans explains, ā€œIt’s essentially a metaphor for trying to make it through life and forging a career for yourself, including all the hurdles that come your way,”

Many of the album’s themes, including those explored in “Pantheon”, stem from struggles with depression and insecurity, which Evans candidly discusses. He reflects on the feelings of imposter syndrome experienced during periods of success, questioning one’s worthiness and ability to measure up to idols and peers.

Evans elaborates, “I wrote ‘Pantheon’ when I was suffering from a heavy bout of imposter syndrome. We’ve done all these big tours with all these huge bands, bands we grew up idolizing, and now we’re rubbing shoulders with giants so to speak. It’s about questioning if you belong, if you’re good enough, am I able to keep up with my peers? Can I fill the shoes of my idols once they are gone? Do I deserve it?”
