Video/Single Review: “Never Say” – The Black Vultures Band

Yesterday, “New Release Friday” and Forge AMP Management brought us the brand new video for recent single “Never Say” from my favourite Welsh band, The Black Vultures Band.

The Black Vultures are:

  • Huw Williams – Vocals & Rhythm Guitar
  • Aled Owen Jones – Lead Guitar
  • Mitch Casey – Bass
  • Brandon Pritchard – Drums

…and are a solid, driven and energetic blues/ grunge/ rock band from South Wales, influenced by Queens of The Stone Age, Black Sabbath and Kings of Leon, to name a few.

“Never Say” presents a groovy, funky, straight-up rock n’ roll vibe, highlighting Williams’ smooth yet gravelly vocals, Jones’ exemplary and seemingly effortless guitar playing and lead break, complemented by Casey’s heavy bass and Pritchard’s swift drumming.

The video for “Never Say” contrasts black and white with muted colour, depicting the band playing in both a forest and a studio. With their natural and understated rock n’ roll appearance, the video exudes the slickness and coolness of a motorcycle club jamming and recording on the road. However, it retains humility with a modest introduction and a slightly comedic outro, grounding the band in their own reality. It’s a perfect blend all around. Watch the video below and keep an eye on The Black Vultures because this is a band determined to succeed.
