Last Wednesday night German heavy metal legends Accept put on a special performance at the Opera House in Oslo as part of the Tons of Rock festival opening concert, and I was delighted to be invited along to watch and photograph the show.

In 2017 the band played a concert with a German classical orchestra in front of 80,000 people at Wacken Open Air, which was released last year as a live album: Symphonic Terror – Live at Wacken 2017. For the Oslo concert the band were joined by members of KORK (Kringkastingsorkestret or Norwegian Radio Orchestra) and performed unique versions of their own tracks as well as interpretations of classical songs.
While we were inside the venue having a lovely time, the heavens had opened and there was some doubt as to whether the planned outdoor fireworks finale would take place, but the wind and rain stopped just enough and as people were leaving the venue a small display of fireworks were released from the roof of the Opera House.
Norway’s largest rock festival Tons of Rock took place at Ekeberg in Oslo fromĀ 27 to 29 June. Keep an eye out for our coverage!
