On Wednesday night Katie headed to Tufnell Park to catch As Lions play Boston Music Room.
First to hit the stage were Shadows Into Light all the way from Cardiff, with vocalist Gav Burrough favouring the floor as he performed amid the crowd for their entire six-song set.
Main support came from London melodic/progressive rock band Brutai, playing a selection of tracks from their debut album Born (reviewed by James). The band’s unique mix of clean and growled vocals, together with catchy melodies and technical guitar went down well with the growing crowd. Brutai ended their set with slightly heavier track “Flood” from their 2013 self-titled EP.
By the time London five-piece rock/metal band As Lions took to the stage, the 250-capacity room was packed. The band put on a high-energy show from start to finish, with vocalist Austin Dickinson (son of Iron Maiden’s Bruce) constantly interacting with the crowd, who were loving every minute.
The band opened with “The Fall” and played a cracking set showcasing tracks from their debut full-length album Selfish Age (released in January of this year), featuring groove-laden melodic hooks, and catchy choruses.Ā Ross reviewed the albumĀ in January.
