Led Zeppelin to reunite for Glastonbury 2024

Yes, you read that right. It was always going to take something momentous for Messrs Page, Plant and Jones to reunite after their one-off performance at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in 2007. And now it would seem the Eavis family have finally talked them into playing at Worthy Farm. And let’s be honest, if they were going to reunite, it was going to be at the world’s biggest and most famous festival.

Details are still pretty sparse on what we can expect given Jimmy Page is 80, and Robert Plant and John Paul Jones aren’t exactly far off the mark themselves. But if The Rolling Stones can do it, then so can Zeppelin. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on who’ll be behind the drum kit but the smart money would be on Jason Bonham given his outstanding performance back in 2007 as well as the chance to honour his father.

As one of the most influential rock bands to walk the Earth, it’s going to make for some great, if not emotional, watching as it’s likely the last time the three of them will ever share a stage again. We won’t be there but I can say for myself I’ll be watching it on BBC iPlayer.

Likewise, there isn’t an updated poster as the festival are remaining tight-lipped on where they’ll be appearing on the bill so whether it’s a full headline set or something more truncated is anyone’s guess.

Page and Jones have recorded a special message for fans to watch where they officially announce their one-off reunion and their visible excitement for the show before going on to discuss that they’ll be appearing on The One Show tomorrow to discuss it further.
