Following the success of last year’s festival, StoomFest will return to the legendary London venue, the Garage, over the weekend on the 5th and 6th of July 2024 for its second edition. Early bird tickets are now available for a ridiculous price of £50.
Leading this year’s bill are Greenleaf (SWE), doom riff specialists Acid Mammoth (GRC), psych stalwarts Nebula (US), weed worshipers Dopelord (PL) and a whole host more of some of the best stoner, doom and psych bands from near and far.
The festival has expanded to include an afterparty, which is being held in the Garage’s sister venue, The Grace, on Sunday, the 7th of July.
This year’s lineup takes the event across new borders and oceans with an even split between domestic homegrown acts and overseas talents. Speaking on the diversity of the lineup, creative director and festival curator Aitor Mendez had this to say: ‘We felt it was essential to stick to our roots of trying to promote the best of the domestic underground and bring bands over here that you might not necessarily see in the UK this year. We’re proud of the lineup and the fact that we’ve gotten some US bands this year; it will hopefully give us that extra edge as we go forward.’
Stoomfest is committed to celebrating and championing the underground. Marketing and Social media director Alexis Humanes reflects, ‘We want to make a positive contribution to the scene in the UK; we strongly emphasise fair pay for the bands participating in addition to trying to foster a sense of community with the audience. Last year was a positive experience, which we hope to build upon.’
