Finland’s premier metal festival has announced more bands for this year’s rendition of the festival.
Joining the already stacked lineup with a special 25th anniversary performance of Slaughter Of The Soul, Sweden’s own At The Gates are sure to keep the heads banging and metal flowing. Also announced, and additionally playing a very special set, is Norway’s own black metal pioneers Gorgoroth and Thy Art is Murder who replace Rivers of Nihil who sadly had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Also performing a special set and one of only a handful shows this year, the recently revived Dawn of Solace will bring listeners their unique blend of gothic and melancholic metal.
These acts join the already impressive lineup which includes legendary acts such as Brazilian metallers Sepultura, native cello-rockers Apocalyptica, folk metal legends Ensiferum and winter metal heavyweights Wolfheart amongst many others. The festival which celebrated it’s 30th anniversary in 2016, has played host to many great acts over the years including Saxon, Behemoth, Amon Amarth, Sabaton and others across it’s long history. Held on the lakeside of Nummijärvi in Kauhajoki, Finland, the festival is held from the 17th to the 20th of June this year with tickets still available from lippu.fi, Tikketi and outlets across Finland.
