Continuing our run of letting you know a little more about as many of the bands on at Bloodstock 2025 as we possibly can before you get a chance to see them, we have Fortune Teller. This bunch play on the new Blood Stage on the Saturday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We’re based in the South UK, Theresa & Tim are from Bournemouth, Meyrick & Ross are in Sussex, Ian’s Basingstoke and David is in London!
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Ian, myself (Theresa) & Ross have been writing together really since December 2023, but we only actually all met in person last year in the late Summer.
Where does the name of the band come from?
We were searching for a name that fit. The song ‘The Fortune Teller’ was about the 3rd song I’d added vocals to and we agreed the name was catchy, however, we kept looking. But you know when you keep coming back to something? We realised that it just fit us too well!
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Ian and I discovered very early on that we were writing in the same style and had the same vision for the tracks. We are combining power and symphonic metal elements with more melodic modern metal. It’s heavily melodic, but still something you can bang your head to. And we wanted the choruses to be big and memorable so everyone can sing along to them. Each song has some storytelling elements, the Fortune Teller’s world is like a heightened version of our world, full of mystery and intrigue, fantastical landscapes and often fear and it’s a new adventure with each track.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
We love the performance, it’s kind of the reward for the hard work of creating and running a band, and we bring the songs to life on stage. Exciting, energetic and fun.

Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Yes, I’ve been many times, performing with other bands and also as a punter. It’s a fantastic metal festival and right here in the UK!
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We haven’t competed this time around although we have done individually in other bands previously, so we understand the journey. We have been lucky enough to be offered a spot this year by Simon Hall, he’s a dude.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
Fantastic to be back in the home of UK Metal!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
We are literally giving you everything we’ve got! We’ve got some fast paced tracks, some chuggy tracks and chorus upon chorus of melodic power!
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Luckily, we know we’re not going to miss Trivium! But on the Saturday I’d like to see Breed 77 and Static-X for the nostalgia, and Fear Factory.
What are you working on at the moment?
We are building our EP and the music videos to go with it, and we’ll be looking to book tours in the Autumn.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Airbourne, Sonisphere 2014. When Joel climbed the rigging. Mental! My heart was in my throat the entire time.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Before the show you will always find me (Theresa) with honey, lemon and ginger in some form or another! I’ll swig honey out the bottle if there’s no alternative. After the show… that’s a whole other story!
