Mosh Interviews… Maya Von Doll of Sohodolls

Sohodolls are a bit of a blast from the past, releasing their debut album in 2006, touring heavily and then for various reasons  taking a bit of a breather. Maya didn’t stop writing material, though, and popped out a couple of solo number until fairly recently. Madonna’s posted a video of her daughter dancing to one of Soho Dolls’ songs and interest in the band was rekindled.

With their Queen of Spades EP out now, there is more to come. Whether we’ll get another 34-date UK tour we wait to see!

In the meantime, the delightful Maya happily regales us of tales on the road, topics she’s proud to raise awareness of, and the struggles she faced when everything seemed to be going wrong… along with a positive message for anyone else who feels that nothing is going their way.

Thanks to Maya for her time, and I apologise if I seemed distracted towards the end of the interview. Zoom updated just before we talked, and half the things I usually use (in particular the timer so I know how long I have left) had been hidden by default!
