We love a good cover at Moshville Times. We’re also rather partial to Bad Touch. So it would be negligent of us not to tell you about their latest recording. No strangers to a cover or two such as their version of Kiki Dee’s “I’ve Got the Music in Me” or their collaboration with Mollie Marriott for a turn at Ike and Tina Turner’s “Baby Get it On”, they head deep into the archives of Motown for a version of Edwin Starr’s “Twenty-Five Miles” (whose version of “War” you’ve likely heard).

Much like their aforementioned Kiki Dee cover, they take this song and run with it to transform it into their own work whilst still being respectful of the source material. If you played this to someone without informing them it was a cover, it’s pretty likely they’d be none-the-wiser as Bad Touch stay faithful to their own bluesy upbeat classic rock tones but load it with an equal volume of soul as the original.
With a video marked by their usual tongue-in-cheek humour, there’s also plenty of footage of the recording process at Marshall’s brand new recording studio. Working with Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Heaven’s Basement) and their state-of-the-art yet vintage Neve 8048 desk, it’s a taster of what we can expect from the space.
