Band of the Day: The Compromise

Compromising between sub-genres for your Sunday enjoyment, it’s The Compromise.

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

We’re from Turin. A cool little city in the north of Italy.

How did you meet?

Some of us are longtime friends from high school but the band’s formation was completed thanks to mutual friends who brought us together.

How long have you been playing as a band?

We started playing together in mid-2013, recorded demos in our rehearsal room and at the end of the year we released our first EP Motionless.

Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?

Finding “the compromise” is what holds us together, what keeps together any kind of relationship.

What are your influences?

We are influenced by anything from pop to rock, from metalcore to pop punk.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

What makes us unique? “The compromise” between our heavy rhythmic sound and a very catchy voice

Do you have any particular lyrical themes?

When we write lyrics we do not always look for a link with our other previously written lyrics but we have noticed that there is always a common thread that is trying to improve ourselves as a person and pushing ourselves to reach our goals.

What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?

It’s a party for us, it’s the result of hours and hours  in the rehearsal room! From 2013 to now we have played countless shows.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

We love the live shows of bands like Bring Me The Horizon, Twenty One Pilots, A Day to Remember, Slipknot… in short, the shows with flames, fireworks and many people screaming!

What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?

Guitars:

  • LTD TE-441
  • GIBSON LP STUDIO
  • Both used with a Line6 Helix

Bass:

  • IBANEZ SR300E

What are your plans for 2019?

Our first album Horizons came out in May exclusive for Japan. It will be released in October in the rest of the world and will be supported by an Italian tour in autumn.

If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!

Good question! A nice line up would be:

  • Bring Me The Horizon
  • The Compromise
  • YungBlud
