Band of the Day: Dialects

Dialects logo 192Hailing from Glasgow, this instrumental prog/math four-piece is the result of a crappy Christmas party. In a bid to escape, the founding three members made their excuses and instead spent time in a rehearsal room coming up with ideas and working with ideas Conor (guitar) had had since he had left his previous band.

The addition of Ali on bass was the final part the band needed and writing / recording began in earnest once he joined. Their debut EP, LTKLTL, is out on May 11th and one of the tracks is available to listen to below.

The five tracks are a pleasant mix of trippy, “traditional” prog and somewhat heavier elements. They’re definitely not songs missing lyrics, being genuine instrumental pieces and they play well as the kind of background music you can find yourself getting wrapped up in.

Keep an eye out for LTKLTL is modern prog is your thing, and check the band out online for more information.
