First of all, it’s pronounced “EYE-(or)-EE”. So that’s that little mystery out of the way. Formed in 2012, they’ve released a fair few tracks for free download since then including the one embedded below.
They’re from Dallas, Texas and they produce a sound as big as their home state would expect. Billing themselves as melodic hardcore or metalcore, they have a very well-rounded and bass-driven sound compared to many of their peers.
Vocally, they’re what you’d expect from a <something>core band – harsh, angry, spitting blood. The melodic tones are definitely there, but very much leaked out from underneath the heavy bass which pushes each track along. Don’t expect it all to be fast-paced and moshpit-friendly, though. There are a few slow, heavy and progressive passages scattered about as well.
Personally, I’m a little more fond of their Orphan EP than of their most recent song “Vitals”, but that’s just me.
As I said, the tracks are free but you can throw some cash at them as well if you want to show your appreciation. And you will.
