New Band of the Day: Evil Invaders

Evil Invaders’ self-titled EP

I’m buried in “new bands” at the moment, so can’t recall why I bookmarked this group. Maybe they tweeted me, or a band member liked the facebook page. No idea! However…

Evil Invaders play heavy / speed / thrash metal (take your pick), come from Leopoldsburg and have four members. They also absolutely don’t disappoint if you like your metal fucking fast. Seriously, I think my ears need an upgrade to keep up.

Their 6-track self-titled EP came out earlier this year and you can find most of the tracks on YouTube if you look around. The recording quality is excellent and one of the few records where I’ve easily been able to hear the bass guitar underlying the rest of the band. Usually they get drowned out and I doubt I’d notice if they didn’t even include the poor sod’s track (*cough* Jason Newsted on  …And Justice *cough*).

They do have a lovely old-school sound to the vocals, though – slightly echoey and screeched in places. Reminds me of early Exodus, and that sure as hell isn’t a bad thing.

Tons of extra info can be found on their facefart page, including links to more tracks.
