Hailing from Milwaukee, the capital of… erm… actually, I don’t know. Everyone in the known world should be aware that it’s pronounced “mill-e-wah-que” which is Algonquin for “the good land.” And also that the French missionaries and explorers were coming here as early as the late 1600s to trade with the Native Americans.
It’s also the hometown of four-piece EDEN, who brand themselves as “Dark Rock”. I’m not sure about how dark it is compared to really dark shit, but it’s good enough to listen to with quite a heavy keyboard base to it. The vocals, often the weakest part of a fledgling band with a self-funded demo, don’t suck which is also a major point in their favour.
They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, particularly if you’re more a Cannibal Corpse kind of person but what does it cost you to have a quick listen?
You can catch a couple of their tracks via their facebook band page, follow them on Twitter (@EDENwi), check them out on ReverbNation or listen to their EP on BandCamp.
