News is coming out now of the death of producer Chris Tsangarides, who passed away today after a short illness. Tsangarides was placed into a medically-induced coma in 2014 as he recovered from a case of Legionnaire’s disease, and fought back to return himself to the studio.
Tsangarides has worked with bands from all across the rock and metal spectrum as well as a handful outside of the genre, such as The Human League and Tom Jones. He was responsible for Tigertailz’s Bezerk, Judas Priest’s Painkiller, and The Amorettes’s Game On amongst many, many other quality released.
Comments are coming in from artists via social media, and all are in agreement that their works would not be what they were without his influence.
Saddened to hear of the passing of Chris Tsangarides. We shared some brief but beautiful studio time together which has remained forever in our memory. Wonderful man with a personality that illuminated the room & all within it.
All our love to his family x x x
