Videos are like buses, only more entertaining and not as big and red. And you can’t ride in a video. And videos don’t need diesel to run. OK, what I’m trying to say is that I had a quiet couple of days with nowt coming in and now I’m rattling these posts off about 2-3 days in advance to bring the queue down.
Farewell, My Love – “Burn Out The Night”
Arizona rockers Farewell, My Love have dropped a fantastic new video for track “Burn Out The Night”. The video was shot in Bristol last summer on the British Horror Story, but the song is taken from the bands forthcoming album Above It All which will be released on the 22nd of July. You can pre-order the album now.
Judas the Dancer – “Post Pop Violence”
Italian post-metal metallurgists Judas The Dancer are proud to present their new new video single titled “Post Pop Violence”. The single is taken from the EP of the same name which will be released in September. Asked about what the term “post pop violence” represents, the band commented:
Post pop violence is, before anything else, the only expression we could describe our sound and approach to composition: easy and listenable music, raw at times, depravated for the most part, groovy and enjoyable, irrespective of the genre. This song condenses this spirit somehow, so it deserved the title.
The inspiration for the song came from the band wondering “how much wine could have been consumed during the Last Supper. How raving the words of Christ could have sounded to the Apostles, despite all (it’s claimed) they had seen him performing. It became a joke and the rest came by itself. The video is an extension of this story, with a brutal, gorish hint from Visceravisions. Sam Raimi mixed with the Gospels. Nonetheless it remains a joke and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. It’s just post pop violence after all.”
Judas The Dancer plan to release a song every two / three weeks prior the official release of the EP in September.
Witterquick – “Rise”
Exeter-based rock newcomers Witterquick are pleased to reveal the video for “Rise”, the latest track to be taken from their debut EP Beneath The Spinning Lights out now via LAB Records.
Speaking about the track, frontman Will Alford comments:
I sent Ollie [Chanter, bass] the initial demo for ‘Rise’, which at that time consisted of only piano and vocal. He listened to the song on loop all the way up to London, which is a four hour train ride away from where we live.
It’s become a pretty special song for all the band, its about having the courage to chase your dreams, and picking yourself up and carrying on even when things seem hopeless. It really captured that moment in our lives and it was the first time that we realised that we had something special, that we weren’t just five guys playing some songs, we were a band that could actually make it and stand out.
Needtobreathe – “Happiness”
Maybe a little poppy for some, but still a decent tune, “Happiness” is the latest song to be revealed from Neadtobreathe’s upcoming album H A R D L O V E. It’s out on July 15th.
