Balaam And The Angel continue to build on the success of their recent 4 track EP with the release of an edited and remastered version of the lead track, new video and tour of the UK
Balaam And The Angel are three brothers who were born in Scotland and grew up on a council estate in Cannock in Staffordshire. They played music together as teenagers but finally formed Balaam And The Angel in the early 80’s inspired at that time by the new scene that was developing around Bauhaus, The Sisters Of Mercy, Southern Death Cult, Theatre Of Hate etc and a collective experience at the Futurama Festival in Bingley Hall, Stafford in 1981.
The band achieved great success in the 80s alternative and rock scenes, signing to Virgin Records for their debut album The Greatest Story Ever Told, and touring the world with the likes of The Mission, Kiss, The Cult, Aerosmith and Iggy Pop until the release of their last album Prime Time in 1993.
In October 2024, Balaam And The Angel celebrated the 40th anniversary of their first 4 track EP World Of Light (released in Nov 1984) with the release of Forces Of Evil 4 track EP. It was the first release of new material for over 30 years and was initially only available as a 12-inch vinyl only.
Both the EP and video for the opening track, “Dancing Senseless”, drew positive reactions from both the music press and a very strong loyal fan base. The band have followed up the initial success of the EP and video with the release of an edited and remastered version of the EP’s lead track “Forces Of Evil” on all streaming and video platforms.

“The aim of the edit was to adjust the arrangement of the song to make it even punchier and focus attention on the lyrical content. The song deals, controversially, with the contradiction that exists between the religious doctrines of all faiths, that promote the idea of love and understanding, and the development of intolerant ideologies that support the abuse and persecution of followers of different faiths” says guitarist Jim Morris.
The band will go on tour to support the release of the single and video taking in 8 cities/towns throughout the UK (see below for tour dates). The tour is a follow-up to the successful 8 date headline tour of the UK in November 2024.
Balaam And The Angel are one of the very few bands who can still claim to have maintained their original line up. They are three brothers born in Scotland and raised in the West Midlands.
