Continuing our run of letting you know a little more about as many of the bands on at Bloodstock 2025 as we possibly can before you get a chance to see them, we have Unnatural Order. This bunch play on the New Blood Stage on the Saturday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are from Canterbury in Kent.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We have been a band since September 2023 but we have had a few line up changes, so with this current lineup we rewrote our entire discography and started almost from scratch in November 2024.
Where does the name of the band come from?
We saw the words “natural order” on a building in Canterbury, googled it and it was really interesting and knew it was a start. It’s the natural way that things are arranged by the laws of nature without human intervention. Altering it to “unnatural order” really switches the meaning and it is about chaos and how things are not the way they should be. It is something that really resonated and fell in love with the name immediately!
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We are metalcore at the heart of it but we have so many influences from each of our own musical tastes and the way we play our instruments. We definitely are on the darker low tuned djent side of metalcore with technical drumming and low screamed vocals.
What makes us a little unique is how that blends with our synth tracks live, it gives an extra layer of variety and energy to our live performances. It is almost industrial at times.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
We put the work in to be as tight as possible. But most of all, we are ourselves, as authentic as we can be and have fun on stage and really put our soul into the performance.
We really focus on our live sound and making sure that it is consistent with every show.

Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
This will be the first time for all of us so it is excited in every single way, some of us haven’t even been to a festival before so this will be an interesting experience.
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We won the Kent region of the competition, this year was extremely stiff competition, every single band in that final could have easily won and we are beyond grateful for being given this opportunity.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
Who won? Did he just say our name?!!!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
Our setlist goes on a journey, some of the songs blend into others and it can be quite an immersive experience.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Luckily we aimed to all see Gojira together and we are playing on a different day, we are playing on the Saturday and Kublai Khan are playing on that day, let’s hope we don’t clash!
What are you working on at the moment?
We are working on our stage performance mostly right now, we have got a couple of new tracks in the pipeline but we decided to really focus on this show for now.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Probably the time our guitarist had managed to snap the 3 lowest strings of his 7 string after the first song of our set!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
It is different for all of us. Usually we don’t need to, but if we want to treat ourselves, we may have a cider or two to take the edge off.
