Continuing our run of letting you know a little more about as many of the bands on at Bloodstock 2025 as we possibly can before you get a chance to see them, we have Orme. This bunch play on the EMP Stage on the Sunday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are from Hertfordshire. One of the Home Counties just outside of London.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Since 2019.
Where does the name of the band come from?
The name Orme comes from the Great Orme in Llandudno, Wales. Orme in old Norse means “wurm” or “wingless dragon”. The Great Orme itself looks like a dragon’s head coming out of the sea.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We play a mix of drone, doom and psychedelic music influenced by bands such as Bong, Sunn O)) and Boris. Our most recent release No Serpents, No Saviours was more influenced by death-doom bands such as Winter and Serpentine Path.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Our drone sets causes changes in consciousness, putting the audience into a trance state. We experience it as a band onstage as well. It’s a magickal experience. Anyone who wants to experience metal in a different way should definitely check us out.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Some of us have been to Bloodstock at one point or another and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very chilled atmosphere and very welcoming.
When/how did you find out you’d been selected to play at Bloodstock?
A few months ago when we got an email from Simon Hall offering us a slot on the EMP Stage. We’d been messaging him for years on the off chance on being offered to play. But we genuinely didn’t think that Bloodstock would ever have a drone metal band on the bill.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
To paraphrase Blades Of Glory “you’ll get one song, and one song only”.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Since we play on the, Sunday I hope we don’t clash with either Barbarian Hermit or Wall. Looking forward to seeing those guys play.
What are you working on at the moment?
We are working on new material at the moment. Just evolving our sound into some cosmic and strange directions.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Probably the craziest thing was at one show the bass frequencies causing a light fixture to fall down during our set, nearly killing our guitarist!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Since we are all sober, we love to knock back a nice cold glass of whatever fizzy is on offer.
