Cover your ears, kiss your loved ones goodbye and grab the cat – the first new music in 5 years from extreme metal maniacs King Parrot has been unleashed.
In typical Parrot fashion, they have gone straight for the throat with the face melting, “Fuck You And The Horse You Rode In On” as the first taste of what to expect on new album, A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot, due for release on June 6.
King Parrot mainman, Matt Young comments on the songs lyrical approach, “Essentially this track is dedicated to anyone that has ever crossed you, tried to belittle you or make you feel less than. The title is pretty self-explanatory. There’s multiple people in my life from across the past few years that this song goes out to, and there’s a special spot in the lyrics for each of them. Coward’s, Abuser’s, Bully’s and Creep’s, Fuck You And the Horse Your Rode In On!”
The video (which we can’t embed because YouTube says it’s naughty), with its homage to that classic piece of cinema, Trainspotting, was produced by long-time video collaborator Dan Farmer of Farmwalker Films. Dan has been responsible for the majority of the band’s revered music videos including the Australian Music Video finalist “Shit on The Liver”.
Youngy continues:
The video process for “Horse” was challenging, it ain’t easy recreating a scene where a bunch of dudes dive into a toilet bowl! We had the best time making it, but it certainly took a lot of effort and commitment from everyone involved. Our video producer Dan Farmer is a genius at his craft and his ability to turn our visions into a reality is brilliant. Paying homage to Trainspotting was so much fun, and we hope we captured a video that people can return to for years to come.
