Meggera is on the rise with the release of their heavy album Half An Hour Of Butchering. Junio, the band’s vocalist, shared recent updates and challenges.
The release of Half An Hour Of Butchering has been a success. He enthusiastically shared how the band is reaching listeners in unexpected places, with a notable presence in the United States. “Just this week, we shared that the US is our top listener base and that’s really awesome for us!” he said. In addition to promoting the album, the band is busy with music video shoots and internal restructuring.
The band is also undergoing lineup changes and will soon have a new member. “We’re recruiting a fifth member. We’ll go back to having two guitars, like in the beginning,” revealed the vocalist, not hiding his excitement.
Determined to expand their horizons, Meggera has left Brazil to explore European lands, and this move is already yielding great results. The band has been confirmed to perform at Vagos Metal Fest, one of Portugal’s biggest metal festivals, where they will share the stage with major names like Epica, Overkill, and Blind Guardian. “The responsibility is huge,” Junio said about the opportunity to play with these metal giants.

The vocalist didn’t mince words addressing the frequent comparisons to Slipknot. “We know it’s inevitable because of the masks. Even though Slipknot wasn’t the first or only band to use them, they’re the most famous with this approach, so people will inevitably compare. We’re happy to be reminded of something with their quality, but we find it minimally dumb when people make comparisons in terms of copying,” he asserted. “A brief dive into our music and any idiot can tell it’s quite different. It’s like saying Sleep Token or even Mushroomhead are also copies of Slipknot. Masks are artistic expressions like face paintings, clothes, and hairstyles. It’s part of it,” he concluded.
In the coming months, the band plans to release new music videos and live materials from their shows in Europe. “Stay tuned to our social media for updates,” he encouraged. Meggera is ready to conquer new spaces in the metal scene, maintaining their authenticity and unique sound. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
