Video Roundup: Slipknot / Dying Fetus / Kotonic / Black Stone Cherry / Black Budget / Hetman

Bloody hell, it’s hard to stay on top of everything at the moment. So many new bands flinging songs and videos up, then some of the big hitters just drop stuff out of thin air as well. Here’s half a dozen picked from the last few days…

Slipknot

GRAMMY Award-winning Iowan icons Slipknot shared Bone Church, a surprise standalone single now available on all streaming platforms. The new song arrives with a M. Shawn ‘clown’ Crahan directed video piece titled “Yen – Director’s Cut (Bone Church)”, which finds the multidisciplinary artist and founding member refreshing footage from the band’s “Yen” music video.

Says clown about the new track,

On the road, we have a “jam room” set up backstage at every show, where we play, practice, warm up and sometimes try out new ideas. Bone Church started life in a jam room on the .5: The Gray Chapter tour. We’ve been bringing it closer and closer to life ever since, and finally, here it is. This one is for the fans – a further vision deeper into Slipknot’s history, which is still being written. Enjoy.

Dying Fetus

Death metal overlords Dying Fetus share the brutal new digital single & video for “Unbridled Fury”! Watch the Eric Richter directed video & listen on all streaming services.

Additionally, they have begun their EU Winter 2023 headline tour! Support is provided by Nasty, Cabal & Frozen Soul.

Kotonic

Kotonic were our Headline Act a couple of weeks back, and have followed up our little chat with a video for the song “Alive”. The song is a catchy rocker with a mildly pop-punk edge. They said in the feature that they were a 3-piece bringing the power of a 5-piece and I defy anyone to argue that after listening to “Alive”. If you didn’t count the faces in the video, you’d never guess!

Black Stone Cherry

“Out of Pocket” was one of the very few newer tracks that Black Stone Cherry regaled us with at their recent Glasgow show, and as the touring goes on they’ve dropped a video for it on us. A small comfort if you missed them live, but you know they’ll always be back around again!

Black Budget

A new band on us – and we like new bands – Black Budget hail from Toronto which is miles away (unless you live in Mississauga in which case it’s pretty close by). The band tell us that “‘Detonator’ is an anthem track, setting the scene of chaos with a nefarious bassline, unrelenting percussions, guitar and vocals sounding on brink of madness”. And who are we to argue?

Hetman

Ukrainian Metal band Hetman released their full-length album Black Heart on December 9th, 2022. This week the band released the official music video for “White Threads, Black Needles”.

Life has a great variety of colours and shades. And there are two ways to make it better.

One way is just to enjoy your life, where your family and close ones are near and healthy. Enjoy every second of it.

The other way is about money, which can buy love, joy and happiness.

So it’s up to you to decide and everything you need to decorate your life is in your hands.

We wish you peace, happiness and love.
