Celebrating its “live” premiere via the cinematic streaming event The Monumental Mass – A Cinematic Metal Event, the song proves to be a real highlight in the live band’s set, ready to be unleashed to the masses at one of Powerwolf’s massive tours or festival headline shows this year. The incredible sound production highlights this live version and turns it into a standout hymn for each fan of the genre.

Soulfly

Underground icon, extreme metal trailblazer, third world warrior, and leader of a diverse and dedicated tribe, Max Cavalera not only survives but thrives, blasting out riff after killer riff. The same spirit which launched Soulfly in 1997 summons impossibly heavy noise to this day, throwing down ten slabs of monstrous music on the band’s twelfth album, Totem, which is set for release via Nuclear Blast on August 5th.

Today, the band releases the album’s second single entitled, “Scouring The Vile” featuring John Tardy of Obituary.

Scouring the Vile is Soulfly’s personal fuck you letter to cancer! The lyrics are angered by the loss of loved ones. It was amazing to share the vocals with an old veteran, John Tardy of Obituary.

Modes

Having taking inspiration from bands across the metal genre, old and new, Kent’s very own Modes are today thrilled to continue their journey with a blistering new offering called “Infamous”.

With “Infamous” the 4-piece metalcore band have produced one of their heaviest tracks to date. It’s a truly honest offering that digs deep into messages of hurt, leading to severe anger. These themes are portrayed heavily by the crushing vocals and immersive instrumentation.

“Infamous” is a song we wrote to reflect on anger and past trauma that we have experienced. We wanted to put this into words to help others feel understood and seen. It’s only human to have been in situations that lead to feeling hurt, angry, and even disappointed in how you have been treated by others.

Huranova

Huranova has shared their new single “No Name” alongside a official video. The track exemplifies the bands ability to create the kind of atmosphere that can fully engage the listener and at the same time slowly build a current of tension just below the surface.

Carnation

The Belgian death metal stalwarts of Carnation are now releasing a brand new song “Stench of Death”! The track is accompanied by a new music video which can now be streamed below. The new EP Stench of Death, including the Entombed cover “Supposed to Rot” is out today.

In celebration, the band created a fitting red vinyl to celebrate the birth of “Stench of Death”. Pre-orders are now available.

Kalandra

Norwegian alternative band Kalandra is excited to present a new video for the song “Mørke Skoger”, meaning dark forests, composed for the game Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands.

Kalandra comment:

In the game you’re travelling from scene to scene by horse, often through various landscapes and forests so we wanted something to capture the atmosphere of this mystical journey. The music video is shot in various locations and rehearsal rooms in Oslo including session musicians Kenneth Lien on tagelharpa and John Stenersen (Wardruna) on hurdy-gurdy (nyckelharpa). Shot and directed by Thomas Bottolfsen.
