Avem release music video for “Calling Card”

Look no further than the forest and wetlands of Southern Ontario to find Avem, a bubblegum punk rock band with songs about birds and human lived experiences as told through the perspective of birds. The subject matter may seem as crazy as a loon, but their infectious sound will have you bopping along instantly.

Comprised of Drummer Bryson Emmons, Guitarist Maury Core, and Bassist/Vocalist Julian Warmland, Avem take inspiration from Pop Punk giants The Manges, as well as cult classics The Windowsill and anything Dan Vapid touches.

After signing with Mom’s Basement Records in 2021, Avem plan to add many more cities to their “played in” list, as well as release a debut LP Three Birds Stoned in Spring 2022, after demoing with the DIY legend Jimmy Vapid.

And… they have just released a music video for their song “Calling Card”. You can watch the video below. Here’s what the band had to say:

Written about a predator stalking its prey, those bird nerds discover first hand what happens when you take too much LSD.

“Calling Card” will appear on their upcoming album Three Birds Stoned which will be released in the spring of 2022 through Mom’s Basement Records. The band last released a split with Cobra & The Daggers in 2019.
