Video Roundup: Omnium Gatherum, Aborted, Angerot, Ultra-Violence

It’s been a while since we last did one of these, January from last checking. So, without further ado let’s kick things off in style with some new bangers from some classic bands…

Omnium Gatherum

Finnish melodic death metal masters, Omnium Gatheurm, have released the first single entitled “Gods Go First” off their upcoming album The Burning Cold, which will be released on August 31st. The band comments:

“Gods Go First” is about the will and the power of it, like good ol’ Yoda sayz “do, or do not, there is no try” – Gods go first to the absolute, and to nothingness! Catchy wild ride with a lot of nasty shameless musicianship included.. Sure this one’s gonna be a killer live tune which will get a lot of moshpits rolling! We wanted to make an intensive old school video with just the band and nothing else, and team captured well this moment of playing in a tiny old barn in the middle of nowhere.

You can check out the video below and also catch the band when they come to London later this year (16th November to be precise) with Wolfheart and Nothgard.

Aborted

TerrorVision, Aborted’s new studio album, will be out on September 21st, 2018. Today the band releases the official video for the first new album track, “Squalor Opera”. TerrorVision will be released digitally and as standard CD jewelcase, gatefold LP and limited box set. Check out the new single below:

Ultra-Violence

Italian thrash metal band Ultra-Violence who are set to return on 27th July with their new album Operation Misdirection through Candlelight Records have shared the video for latest single, “Cadaver Decomposition Island”, one which represents the cycle of life, death and rebirth.

Lead vocalist Loris Castiglia comments:

I thought a lot about the visual part of the song while I was working on the lyrics. We felt like it would fit perfectly with the music. Considering that the song doesn’t follow a classic structure but is constantly changing and evolving I decided to divide the whole theme in three parts: decomposition of the human body, merging with nature, rebirth in the form of a tree. The concept is summed up in the lines “Matter can’t be created / Matter can’t be destroyed” that lead to an emotional and peaceful conclusion in which the sensation of being all part of something bigger is palpable and relieving, especially during the lines “Mother cries and it rains upon your leaves / They’re tears of joy / For winter always turns to spring”.

Angerot

U.S. Swede Death Worshipers Angerot have released the official music video for “Rivers of Chaos”. The song features LG Petrov (Entombed, Entombed A.D., Firespawn) and comes off the band’s bludgeoning debut The Splendid Iniquity. Featuring a cast of seasoned veterans who share roots that reach back to the very beginnings of the death metal movement, Angerot are more than a nod to early Swedish death metal, they are pure Swede death worship.

Recorded with Eddie G at Underground Studios, mixed by Tomas Skogsberg (Entombed, Dismember, Carnage, Grave, At the Gates) at Sunlight Studios and mastered by Brad Boatright at AudioSeige, The Splendid Iniquity is a savage 40 minute sonic assault of 90’s Earache Records-era buzzsaw on your ear drums.
