Video Roundup: Fathoms, The Damn Truth, Bitch Hawk, Bombus, Obscura Amentia, Kill The Ideal

Ah, the weekend is nigh! Let loose your hair and warm up your neck muscles for a pre-5pm headbanging session! Just ignore your work colleagues. If they don’t understand, then that’s their problem…

Fathoms – “Slip Away”

Brit Bruisers and recent Band of the Day Fathoms continue their resurgence with the release of a new video single, “Slip Away”. The track is lifted from their ferocious new album, Counter Culture, which will be devastating stereos up and down the country from today.

The Damn Truth – “White Lies”

Montreal based, blues-infused rock band The Damn Truth are back at their devilish ways with the release of the video for “White Lies”, off their sophomore LP, Devilish Folk. The gritty, heavy grooves of “White Lies” is a raw. indie rock masterpiece that is perfectly paired with visuals by Fatty Soprano and Shutterr.

Bitch Hawk – “Death”

What do you get if you cross a hugely successful songwriter who has written hits such as Icona Pop’s “I Love It”, an internationally renowned jazz guitarist, a highly skilled drummer and the singer of from Satan Takes A Holiday? Bitch Hawk, that’s what!

Bringing together such diversity has created an explosive, aggressive and relentless musical landscape nestled somewhere in the extreme-metal sonic range while keeping it all distinctly punk. “Death” pulls no punches, being the second taster from the up-coming self-titled Bitch Hawk full-length release (5th Jan 2018), this is 2 minutes and 11 seconds of pure frenetic energy.

For the video, the band tried to find a visual representation of the track, finally resting with a montage of Electroboom’s misadventures from Youtube…

Bombus – “I Call You Over (Hairy Teeth, Pt. II)”

Bombus have released a new two-track single entitled “Call You Over”. The single features the song “I Call You Over (Hairy Teeth, Pt. II)”, which was taken from their latest album Repeat Until Death, and another, previously unreleased track called “Black Stakes”. The band comments:

Friends of Bombus! Repeat Until Death is coming full circle and we have already entered the studio for the recording of our fourth studio album! What better way to celebrate this than with the release of a new single and a video! “I Call You Over (Hairy Teeth, Pt. II)” is taken from Repeat Until Death. The video is made by the ingenious and extremely good looking Adam Holmquist, who also did the video for “Deadweight”. “Black Stakes” is a previously unreleased, cool and quirky lil’ track.

This release is dedicated to Amélie de Moy – who appears in the video – and Nicklas Högberg at Live Nation who both sadly passed away to fucking soon. That fucking sucks…

But we really hope you all enjoy this release and we will see all y’all soon! Hail, kill and don’t forget to wear white Speedos! Peace out!

Obscura Amentia – “The Art Of The Human Decadence”

We know next to nothing about this band as the video arrived in our inbox unannounced. But it’s good, and therefore we needed to let you all get in on the action as well. Wrap your Friday lugs around some Italian death/doom metal courtesy of Obscura Amentia

Kill The Ideal – “Crazy”

Rising UK trio Kill The Ideal have unveiled the video for their new single “Crazy”, taken from their self-titled EP, which they released last month.

The video features a performance from the band shot in a fresh white room, entwined with humorous and colourful clips to represent the light and dark of every relationship. Frontman Ash Wilson explains:

The video for “Crazy” is unlike anything we’ve ever done before. The track itself has a pretty hard message behind it but we wanted to showcase this in a different, light-hearted way. It captures the reality of a broken relationship and explains how we’ve all been made to feel a little crazy at some point.
