Video Roundup: The Darkness, Go Primitive, Darkfall, Motograter, Brighter Than a Thousand Suns, Silverstein

It’s that time of week again when the weekend is about to land. Unless you work weekends…

The Darkness – “Solid Gold”

The Darkness have released their expletive-drenched new single “Solid Gold” via Cooking Vinyl, accompanied by a video of the self-proclaimed rock legends performing in a huge aircraft hanger amongst a mass of glam-rock lighting and Marshall speaker stacks. An absolute monster of a rock song, “Solid Gold” takes no prisoners whatsoever, taking direct aim at the music industry and addressing record companies, egos and the insincerity that comes with it. It will make uncomfortable listening for A&R men everywhere…

Go Primitive – “I Want More”

UK alt-rockers Go Primitive have released the video for their brand new single “I Want More”, which premiered with Metal Hammer. Produced by respected rock/metal/pop producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For A Friend, Motörhead) it’s the first taste of their upcoming debut album Choices, due early 2018.

Darkfall – “Ride Through the Sky”

Austrian death/thrash metallers Darkfall have published a video for “Ride Through The Sky”, the opening track from the band’s upcoming album At The End Of Times. The full tracklisting has also been revealed. The album will feature 10 songs with a running time of approximately 55 minutes.

Motograter – “Dorian”

Motograter have released the official music video for their latest single “Dorian” directed and produced by Christopher Davis (Human Twelve) who has also produced videos for bands like Dope and Angelspit. The track is taken from their sophomore album Desolation released on Friday, August 11th, 2017 via EMP Label Group. Motograter frontman James Legion states:

This song is the first real single the band has released in many years. For it to be doing so well is really awesome. It was very interesting and fun to get to shoot the video for it in the Ohio State Reformatory. That place has so much character. We are very thankful to the staff for letting us stay all night and work.

Brighter Than a Thousand Suns – “What’s Inside”

Synth-rock/post-hardcore outfit Brighter Than A Thousand Suns has finally premiered their brand new music video. “What’s Inside” is the second single and music video from the recently released EP entitled The Way Out.  Guitarist/programmer/synthesiser Randy Roswell comments:

When writing “What’s Inside”, I was thinking a lot about alienation and how, in the name of acceptance, we often live our lives as the people others wish us to be, squelching and squandering a lot of our potential. Nathaniel Branden once said “Do not allow anyone to tell you for what purpose you should live. To be happy and fulfilled, you do need a purpose, but let it rise out of who you are.” This song is our anthem to that idea.

Silverstein – “The Afterglow”

Canada’s post-hardcore heavyweights, Silverstein have released a new video for song “The Afterglow” which is taken from recently released new full length, Dead Reflection, out now via Rise Records. Dead Reflection is Silverstein’s eighth full length, a feat reached by very few bands, especially within the heavy music world where youthful fire and aggression is often finite.
