Saturday Video Roundup: Alestorm, Ana, Nothing, Voyager, Jonne, Pteroglyph

This week has been mental in terms of the number of video releases. We’ll do our best to clear the decks over the weekend in preparation for some more audio-visual fun on Monday…

Alestorm – “Mexico”

We’ve been loving the new album No Grave But The Sea from premier pirate metallers Alestorm (out on May 26th). Here’s the second sampling from it for you all – Mexico…

Ana Metal For Charity Project – “Ana”

This song’s almost 8 minutes long and it needs to be to squeeze in all the guest appearances! For the full list, see our previous article as it’s just too long to reproduce here. The album is out now and features this lead single, a cover of “Holy Diver” and seven more tracks. All money raised from the “Ana” single and album will be donated to the Norwegian Cancer Society. They do a fantastic job by funding cancer research!

Nothing – Amoeba Green Room Session

A little unusual in that this is a studio session with a few tracks rather than just a new song. Nothing have announced a set of UK/EU dates through August and into September, and the video gives you a chance to check out their sound.

UK dates are (* – with Car Seat Headrest):

  • Aug 27 London, UK Lexington
  • Aug 28 Brighton, UK Sticky Mikes
  • Aug 29 London, UK Forum *
  • Aug 30 Manchester, UK Ritz *
  • Aug 31 Leeds, UK Leeds Uni *
  • Sep 01 Thornhill, UK Electric Fields Festival

Voyager – “Ghost Mile”

Australian pop sensibilities combined with modern progressive heaviness – the cult force that is Voyager are back with a brand new album, Ghost Mile. They smashed their Pledge Music campaign target in just over a week, and 2 days after releasing their first single from the album.

Voyager have now dropped the second single and title track from the album, and are constantly pushing musical boundaries, going where nobody expects the band to go.

Jonne – “Pimeä On Oksan Taitto”

Eduinaluca wrote about the new album from Korpiklaani’s Jonne Järvelä a few days ago for us. Check out the first video from Kallohonka below – the albums came out on April 28th.

Pteroglyph – “Red On You”

Based on a recurring nightmare Pteroglyph mastermind Jimmy MacGregor was having, “Red On You” is the latest single from the Leeds UK based progressive metal outfit, taken from the forthcoming album Death Of A Prince, set for release on 23rd June.
