Saturday Video Roundup (Part 1): Once Human, Tequila Mockingbyrd, Hate Unbound, Dimmu Borgir, Greyhaven (UK), Emmure

Another double-hit to try and give everyone a shout. Expect part two late afternoon!

Once Human – “Dark Matter”

Once Human released their new studio album Evolution yesterday. While the video for their first single “Eye Of Chaos” now exceeds the 2.5 million views, a new video for their song “Dark Matter” is now available on YouTube. Evolution is not just the title of Once Human’s sophomore release, it’s an armor-plated declaration. Having made waves with their 2015 debut, The Life I Remember, the band have dramatically progressed beyond the melodic death metal sound of that release into something more complex, emotional, distinct, and devastatingly heavy.

Tequila Mockingbyrd – “Never Go Home”

Australian powerhouse trio, Tequila Mockingbyrd, have announced the signing of a worldwide deal with Off Yer Rocka Recordings, the label currently home to acts such as The Quireboys, The Amorettes, Bonafide and Massive Wagons. Says Estelle:

We’re so happy to be working with OYR to get the album out to the world. They showed a lot of belief in the band before we even landed in the UK, so to have them backing the record is amazing. We’re very happy ‘Byrds right now, as we’ve been waiting a long time for this.

Their debut album, Fight And Flight, will finally be released on 24 March 2017, and contains 13 songs covering topics such as having a good time, shaking what you’ve got to get where you want to go, and taking chances to make things happen. If you need more details, we reviewed it last year (!). “Never Go Home” is being released as a single before that, and will also contain 4 live tracks, recorded at the “Flocking Off, A Farewell to Oz” show in Melbourne.

Hate Unbound – “I, Martyr”

Hate Unbound’s critically acclaimed debut album Plague is out now on Inverse Records. The band have also released a gloomy music video from the track “I, Martyr”.

Dimmu Borgir – “Mourning Palace (live)”

As 2017 marks the year of the great return of Norwegian symphonic black metal giants, Dimmu Borgir, they will release their highly-anticipated double-DVD Forces Of The Northern Night on April 28th. The release will contain two live rituals: their legendary concert in Oslo, showing Dimmu Borgir on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir, as well as the entire performance at Wacken Open Air with almost 100 musicians in action.

The Norwegians have unveiled their first video from the Wacken show – see the raging black metal hymn “Mourning Palace” live with the Czech National Symphonic Orchestra!

Greyhaven (UK) – “Brother”

High flying heavy alt-rock unit Greyhaven have revealed their explosive new video for “Brother”. The track is pulled from the band’s current EP State Of Mind, now out in stores.

Greyhaven express a potent blend of alt-rock that is fueled by crushing riffs, evoking melodies, and hooks that will cling to you like static electricity. Greyhaven have taken from a slew of influences cascading from many quarters, but predominantly from the likes of Rise to Remain, Architects, Alexisonfire and Underoath.

Emmure – “Flag of the Beast”

With the release of their seventh full-length record quickly approaching, metalcore titans Emmure have unleashed a brand new music video for their song “Flag of the Beast”, which is featured on the upcoming album, Look At Yourself (out March 3rd on Sharptone Records).
