As we head into the period where most of our PR friends are taking long holidays (I mean, really – you want to take a break from dealing with all those awesome bands?!), the number of videos dropping into the mailbox is dwindling. And yet we still manage four corking songs for you today. Enjoy!
Overkill – “Mean, Green, Killing Machine”
Legendary New Jersey thrashers, Overkill, recently announced their upcoming eighteenth album, The Grinding Wheel, which will be released on February 10th, 2017 via Nuclear Blast. Reapter – “Useless”
Italian thrash metal / prog metal band Reapter have released a new lyric video, entitled “Useless”. It’s from their album Cymatics which was released on September, 23th 2016 by Revalve records.
Someone escapes from his country where he is oppressed and pushed to flee to another country where the same things happen, even worse. In the end, he finds out that the only option is to come back his own country and create there his own promised land.
Korpiklaani – “FC Lahti”
In September, Finnish folk metal superstars Korpiklaani released their single titled “FC Lahti”, to show their support for their local football team. After touring Europe and Russia extensively during recent months, the band presents the lyric video for the track today. Watch the clip which is based on material from Korpiklaani’s appearance at this year’s Masters Of Rock (CZ) festival.
Asphyx – “Candiru”
Dutch doom/death metal division Asphyx continue to promote their much acclaimed latest studio album, Incoming Death, which was released at the end of September via the band’s longtime label partner Century Media Records. Therefore, Asphyx are now launching a next promotional video-clip for the album’s merciless opening track “Candiru”. The clip was shot during the band’s recent appearance at Turock Open Air festival in Essen, Germany. Vocalist Martin van Drunen checked in with the following comment about “Candiru”
“Candiru” is a no-nonsense, non-compromising 3 riff containing fast Asphyx Death Metal track. A gory story about a revolting little fish from the Amazon that can nest itself in human genitals to suck blood after it got there via the urine stream. Only removable through amputation, so be careful there were you relieve yourselves folks! The video was recorded at this year’s Turock Open Air in Essen Germany, which we can almost call our second home. The very first time we ever rammed that tune on stage. We had a ball, as always, so hope you do too while watching this.
Asphyx have also released a swathe of European dates for the new year including three UK shows. Note the updated Glasgow details:
- 11.02.2017 Dublin (Ireland) – Voodoo Lounge
- 25.03.2017 London (UK) – The Underworld
- 10.06.2017 Glasgow (UK) – Audio
