Sunday Video Roundup: Lightning Strikes, Late Night Fights, Black Star Riders, Soulburn

The calm before the storm that is Monday. Grasp that last half day of solace with this quartet of rockishness…

Lightning Strikes – “Death Valley”

Los Angeles, CA-based heavy metal band Lightning Strikes have released a promotional video for the song “Death Valley” off their eponymous debut album which came out on November 18 via Germany’s Pure Legend label, a division of Pure Steel Records. “Death Valley” is one of two songs featuring legendary vocalist Tony Martin of Black Sabbath fame. Says Lightning Strikes founder/drummer, Karpis Maksudian:

We are extremely proud to have Tony on the album. Tony and I got acquainted a few years ago through a video project I directed for another band he was involved with. When I asked him if he’d guest on a couple of songs he graciously said yes. Not only did he agree to contribute vocals, he was fully involved in the creative process and wrote lyrics and melodies as well. I think anybody that loves Tony’s work with Sabbath will like “Death Valley”, too.

Late Night Fights – “Nothing To Lose”

Minneapolis Rock trio Late Night Fights has released the official music video for “Nothing to Lose,” off of their debut album Jousthouse. The band is currently shooting another video for their single “Saving Face” and working on their next EP which they will be recording with Dan Korneff and James Harley at Sonic Debris Studios in New York next month.

Black Star Riders – “When The Night Comes In”

Nuclear Blast are pleased to announce the release of Black Star Riders third studio album, Heavy Fire, in February 2017. The band will support the album with a full UK and Eire tour in March 2017. New single “When The Night Comes In” lyric video available now!

Soulburn – “Withering Nights”

Dutch blackened death doom metallers Soulburn have just released their newest, third studio album Earthless Pagan Spirit via Century Media Records. They’ve accompanied the album release with a new video for the track “Withering Nights”. Soulburn vocalist and bassist Twan van Geel checked in with the following comment about the track:

“Withering Nights” is the fifth track of our new album Earthless Pagan Spirit and most likely my personal favourite. Accompanied with the enchanted vocals done by Lisette van den Berg (Scarlet Stories), this song just has this ‘hard to describe’ kind a mystic touch to it. This song alone already represents the three words used as the title for the album. For it is that moment when you embrace your death that you’ll live your life the fullest. It’s in these “Withering Nights” that make the darkness come to life in its most vivid form. It’s that bite from the forbidden fruit that shares with you its boundless wisdom. It’s in the harmony of chaos and the knowledge of dying when true peace is found. It stands eternally in dialogue with the godless foreverness…It is your Earthless Pagan Spirit.
