Saturday Video Roundup: Apherium, Van Halst, Kataklysm, Elephant Stone

I got caught up drafting the Black Stone Cherry review from last night, so these videos are a little late up! Beef up your afternoon with this quartet…

Apherium – “Resolve”

Alternative rockers Apherium are pleased to reveal their new video for single release “Resolve”.

Resolve is a song about finding your inner strength, letting go of your past mistakes and doubts and moving forward with your life. It’s about learning to feel love instead of hate or fear and re-igniting the flame in your heart.

“Resolve” is taken from the bands EP Embrace The Fall That Brought Us Here, that was released earlier this year.

Van Halst – “Questions”

Canadian gothic rockers Van Halst are asking the “Questions” with their new music video premiered on Femme Metal (alongside an interview that’s well worth a read). The video emphasizes to viewers a strong message to take action against domestic violence and rape culture among many other issues that vocalist Kami Van Halst writes in her socially conscious lyrics. Kami comments:

“Questions” is a very important song for us. There is so much victim blaming in our society and we wanted to draw attention to this issue. My sister (Brittney Grabill) and I wrote this song in response to a series of sexual assaults that were happening in our home town. We were appalled by the lack of focus on the perpetrator and the questions being asked of the victims such as “Well what were they doing there in the first place?” We need to stop putting the blame on the victims and shift our focus to preventing these altercations in the first place. People need to understand that violence and abuse towards another person, any person, is not ok.

Please be advised this video shows scenes of violence towards women. This is intended to raise awareness about victim blaming.

Kataklysm – “The World Is A Dying Insect”

Prepare for an icy metal winter, because Canadian hyperblasters, Kataklysm, will return to Europe in December 2016 as part of the MTV Headbangers Ball Tour! The varied line-up will be completed by US heavy metallers Iced Earth, Finnish folk metallers Ensiferum and US metalcore stalwarts Unearth. In support of this impressive tour combo, Kataklysm release an official tour video for “The World Is A Dying Insect” from their latest album Of Ghosts And Gods.

The sole UK date on the tour is (surprise) in London – the Electric Ballroom on December 6th.

Elephant Stone – “See The Light”

Montreal, Canada-based psych-rock trio Elephant Stone have revealed a new video ahead of a run of European tour dates in December 2016 including two shows in the UK.

“See The Light” is the latest track taken from their new full length album Ship of Fools which was released yesterday via California label Burger Records. You can catch them at:
