Anyone else feeling like the days may be getting shorter, but the working day seems every bit as long regardless?
Locket Picture – “Blank Parody”
West Midlands alt-rock band Blank Parody have unveiled the video for their brand new single “Locket Picture”, which serves as an impressive taster of what’s to come from their debut EP due early next year. Guitarist Liam Howard says:
“Locket Picture” is about the way loss and suffering contorts our personalities and manipulates us into completely different people. Painful memories become weights around our necks which do nothing but remind us of times when we were happier, and the more we stare into that, trying to find answers, the more we invoke desolation and despondency. The song is as much about self-destruction as it is about self-realisation and abandoning the weight of nostalgia before it tips you over the edge.
Dregg – “Weirdo”
Dregg came out swinging earlier in 2016 with their track and video “Sorry Daddy” – a scathing assault on Baby Boomers and their view of subsequent generations’s apparent laziness. Now they return with an anthem for the “Weirdos” of the world.
The latest single served up by the Melbourne freak show that is Dregg, is their new song and video for their most head turning track yet, ‘Weirdo’. The song directly speaks to the over sensitive, anti progressive thinking public that believe the Internet is a burden and a curse on this generations upbringing; factoring into why we as humans have so many different sexual orientations, styles of fashion, music, interests, hobbies and fetishes.
consuumer – “radio”
Raised in the claustrophobic backwaters of Hereford, young two-piece consuumer play a raucous set. Inspired by the sheer volume of Melvins, the raw power of the Stooges and the bleak doom of Sabbath, consuumer create a brutal, nihilistic sound, steeped in a raw energy and honesty that could shake even the most apathetic listener. With a huge string of UK live dates under their belt including a Birthday’s headline show and an acclaimed first single, the band are now ready to release their debut EP Shattered Fruit (Jan 13th 2017)
СЛОТ – “Круги на воде” (Slot – “Circles On The Water”)
“Circles On The Water” is a sweeping, atmospheric ballad from Russian band Slot, that explodes into raging guitar & vocals that encapsulate singer Nookie’s fantastic vocal range and the band’s direct song structures. The video is their most ambitious to date with powerful images and a specific story line that capture the mood and message of the song. This is yet another tremendous track from the album Septima, released on Sliptrck Records earlier this Spring.
