Tuesday Video Roundup: By The Thousands, DARKH, The Doublecross, Theocracy

Tuesdays get a bad rap. They’re that day after Monday when you’re just settling into the weekly rhythm but it’s still too far from the end of the week to get excited. So here’s a little something to brighten up your Tuesday.

By The Thousands – “Clouded Eyes”

Progressive metal act By The Thousands has released their new music video “Clouded Eyes” which comes off their debut full length, Connect. The band had this to say:

We are very excited to debut our music video for “Clouded Eyes”. We all encounter situations in our lives that force us to make difficult decisions for the greater good. This song is about letting go of something that once meant so much to you, but is holding you back in the pursuit of personal growth. Special thanks to Ryan Thompson for working with us on this. We hope you enjoy.

DARKH – “My Curse”

Hard Rock / Metal band DARKH have released the official music video for their track “My Curse”, the second single off of their debut album A Story Yet Untold, which was released on September 29, 2016. The video is a follow up to their critically acclaimed “Bury Our Bones” music video, which was also the first single from the the album. A bit about the song from Touby Fisher:

The story of the song is about that special someone in our lives. And when we filmed the music video we didn’t just want to capture a cliche boy and girl thing, we wanted something obscure and unique. And who doesn’t love a bit of Grindhouse vibe!

The Doublecross – “Fireworks and Butterflies”

Cardiff musician Jon Greenwood, aka The Doublecross is pleased to reveal the music video for his latest single “Fireworks and Butterflies”. The track is taken from his upcoming album Keep Bleeding which is due to be released on October 7th. Produced and directed by film maker, Chris Chucas, the video sees front man Jon dressed as a clown as he wanders around Barry Island in the early hours of the morning. Jon explains:

The main theme is one of self doubt, but the video suggest there may be a sprinkle of hope in there somewhere. Chris dressed me as a clown and we wondered around Barry Island which was made famous by the TV show, Gavin and Stacey. It was fun, but I’ll never do anything like it again. We caught a few dog walkers and joggers by surprise, for sure!

Theocracy – “Wishing Well”

The Athens, Georgia-based melodic metal band Theocracy recently released a lyric video for the track “Wishing Well” from their highly anticipated new album Ghost Ship. The album will be released on October 28th. Theocracy vocalist Matt Smith has this to say about the album:

So many kids were coming up to us after shows and telling us their stories. A lot of them were searching for purpose and a place to fit in, and having grown up as an awkward and unpopular kid myself, their words really stuck with me. I started thinking about what a band of misfits Jesus’ disciples were: fishermen, tax collectors, and people of little consequence in the eyes of the world. Sometimes the ones most people don’t see, or choose to look straight through—the ghosts of society, as it were, dead to the world—end up having the biggest impact. That’s where the title and idea for Ghost Ship came from: all the misfits, the uncool, the outcasts, there is a place where you do fit in. Although Ghost Ship is not a concept album, this is a recurring theme, particularly in the title track and “Castaway”.
