Sunday Video Review (Caligula’s Horse, Story, Bauda)

You’re probably all stuffed to the gills with chocolate by now so I’ll go easy on you. Yeah, right, as if. Here’s an Easter-load of cracking new-ish music for you to sit back and relax to while you let the calories slowly settle on your hips.

Caligula’s Horse – “Turntail”

Caligula’s Horse released their third prog album, Bloom, in October last year. Get a taster of this Australian rockiness below.

Story – “Community”

Sheffield pop/rock/metalcore combo recently released their second EP, Story. This track, in the words of the band is “reflect our feelings and respect towards other bands in our local scene”. A nice gesture and a good song that’s resulted.

Bauda – “Tectonic Cells”

Throwing in an international curve and Chile’s Bauda, a formerly one-man/now group prog combo, released a new song recently from last year’s Sporelights album.

Andy Shauf – “The Magician”

Definitely a man born too late to live through the sixties he so obviously would have loved is Andy Shauf. This easy-going number owes more than a little to the Beatles and is a great song to let just wash over you as you ignore the guilt of stealing the kids’ last bag of Mini-Eggs. It’s from new album The Party, due out on May 20th.
