I think I just found a new favourite pop punk band. OK, so they’re not going to displace my other favourites, of which there are many, but they’re certainly joining the club. Hailing from New England (as opposed to the Olde one), they’ve been going since 2015 so it’s only taken me a decade to hear about them.
On the strength of “Same Old Psycle” I’ve had a listen to their back catalogue, and I do like their style. A mixture of modern pop punk, rap and some audio effects to mix things up a bit. Lyrics are to the point, simple and catchy – which goes along with the riffs and rhythms which are rife with more hooks than a crochet competition. This particular track features Grant Kemp and lolitslea, who I also confess are names new to me, but they can be happy they’re lending their talents to a cracking song.
Right, I’m off to listen to BroadWing again…
