Single Review: We Are Parkas – Friday Night

The weekend has landed! Well it certainly feels like it with We Are Parkas’ first single release this year, “Friday Night”. This garage rock four piece have been on the Bristol scene for around five years now and although this is one of the very first tracks written, the band have been biding their time for exactly the right moment to release it.

With its battering intro your ears prick up immediately and you know you’re in for one hell of a ride. It’s a gritty, sweaty garage rock number that exudes punk swagger. Matt Banks’ gnarly anticipatory squalls against a dirty bass line and feral drumming really gets the adrenaline pumping. A huge chorus and infectious riffs will have you singing and bouncing along in no time and you can all but visualise it live on stage. It’s raw energy and live feel exudes throughout, all credit to its production. This cracking track will surely get We Are Parkas all the attention they so deserve!

So turn it up to 11 and get your weekend started by listening to “Friday Night” out 24th April.
