With the release of their twelfth album on the horizon, Black/Red, Feeder are back on the road once again. Tonight, they make their eighth stop of the tour at Epic Studios in the heart of Norwich to a sold-out crowd.
Starting off the evening, with still a few fans piling into the venue, are The Pearl Harts. A two-piece lineup ready and willing to start this night off right! Consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Kirsty Lowrey and Sara Shaw on the drums and backing vocals, The Pearl Harts are heavily inspired by old-school heavy rock, and this clearly shows with their entourage of tasty riffs combined with edgy vocals coincided with Shaw’s massive drum sounds. You’d have to look twice to believe there are only two of them on the stage!
The Pearl Harts were a great choice for Feeder to bring along, even if it’s only for two nights (the latter being in Lincoln the next day). And given this performance, we certainly won’t be surprised to see these ladies popping up at venues this size more frequently!

Next up are our headliners for the night, Feeder. As the lights dim, the band makes their way to the stage and before you know it, roll straight into “Elf”. A fantastic way to start off the show that sets the mood to a tee.
Feeder are one of those bands that truly capture everything pure about British rock music. Having formed all the way back in the 90s during the grunge era, the band has found a way to remain relevant throughout the years. And there’s a certain charm and sincerity they bring along that makes you root for them that little bit more.
Midway through the set, frontman Grant Nicholas reports it’s that time of the night they would like to see a mosh pit! And if there’s any song that’s going to start one, it’s certainly “Tangerine”. And to be fair to the crowd, they definitely give it a go, especially for a Wednesday night!
As well as playing the classics we’ve all grown up with, like “Feeling a Moment”, “Come Back Around”, and their first hit to propel the band to levels they’ve reached throughout their careers, “High”, Feeder also dish out some new material from their upcoming release. “The Knock” and “Lost in the Wilderness” are a couple that are of good reason the band haven’t missed a step on the songwriting front!
As the night draws closer to the end, Grant reminds the crowd every band has a pop song and this was theirs, as this speech blends into their biggest hit thus far, “Buck Rogers”, and the band says their good nights and off the stage they go… but as any veteran concert-goer will know, there’s always time for one more, or in this case, two more songs. The first of which being “Soldier of War”, which leads into “Just a Day” to cap the night off perfectly.
