Opening up this gig was Charming Liars, a three piece rock group originally from London’s West End that really set the scene for the rest of the show. Vocalist Kiliyan has such immaculate stage presence, using every inch to put on a show-stopping opening performance that was maintained throughout their entire set. The crowd were a large part of their set, with arms waving and heads bouncing throughout. “Bury Me” is their latest single released, which combines melodic synth with catchy drum beats and rhythmic guitar telling a story of self-worth and acceptance of yourself. “Violent Candy” is another song that stands out to me; one of those songs that will get in your head but in the best way possible. Charming Liars have a unique sound that is difficult to fit into any genre but works so well.

Next up we had Static Dress, fresh off touring Europe with Bring Me The Horizon in early 2023. This band are definitely one to keep on the radar, with heavy vocals and even heavier guitar they got the mosh pits started. With a mix of classic punk and metal, and songs such as “sober exit(s)” and “fleahouse”, you know you will be moving when watching these guys play. Classic VHS televisions were placed on stage which really intensified the experience and a clever piece of branding on their part. Static Dress were a great second support act, with a music style closer to Sleeping With Sirens whilst not taking away from the headliners themselves. A band I will be following for sure and attending future gigs.

Sleeping With Sirens delivered an incredible performance as they always do; they are a band I have loved since I was 14 when I first started getting into alternative music. What I liked best about their set was the mix of songs from their newest album Complete Collapse – with standout song to me “Bloody Knuckles” absolutely smashing the second half – and their older songs that made them who they are today. Frontman Kellin interacted with the crowd and got every single person in the sold out room moving, complete with crowd surfers and mosh-pits galore. The chemistry within this band is authentic, not only did they put on a show but they had fun with each song they performed.

It was honestly an incredible experience on my part; I found myself screaming the lyrics to one of my favourite songs “Kick Me” back at the band as I was capturing the essence of what makes them great artists. They played a few acoustic songs too, with a cover of “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls making an appearance and causing floods of tears. I can wait to see Sleeping With Sirens again for the third time and to see what they release next.
