Once again, Kerri headed into the wild depths of Belfast – this time facing the tide of green present on St Patrick’s Day – and somehow survived to bring us details of the final heat in Northern Ireland’s Metal 2 the Masses competition. We’re into the semi-finals next…
Tonight’s event was, as ever, hosted by The Distortion Project and this week took place at Limelight 2.
As ever, a couple of bands didn’t make it through though no fault of their own. Today’s entrants who didn’t manage to get to the Leprechaun’s pot of gold were Munro and As Cities Kneel. I’m sure they’ll bolster their sets, continue impressing locally and throw their best at the event again next year!

The two acts who impressed the judges enough to progress to the next round were Surf Green and False Solution. Congratulations!
The semi-finals begin next week when Ketos, Death of Salesman, Rule of Six and Victim Royal make an appearance at Limelight on March 25th, vying for a place in the grand final.
