Album Review: Lamb Of God – Live In Richmond, VA

Lamb of God are set to release a new live album Live In Richmond, VA on 26th March via Nuclear Blast.

The album features the first of the band’s two livestream events which took place at in September 2020, at which they performed their self-titled album Lamb Of God (released last year and reviewed by Mosh) in full, plus an encore of four songs including the debut live performance of “The Death Of Us”, a new song the band wrote and recorded in quarantine for Bill & Ted Face The Music. The livestream was fantastic – it was nice to see the band perform in an intimate venue. The sound and lighting were well-thought-out and they put on a brilliant performance.

The recording of the live tracks for this album is excellent, so play it loud on your big speakers / big headphones and you can close your eyes and pretend that you Lamb of God are playing live in your home. You could even jostle with your furniture or spill warm beer over yourself to fully create the live music experience…if you want.

This album is something I’m incredibly proud of. Throughout the process of writing, recording, and the subsequent filming of the live stream, I knew we were creating much more than a collection of songs. Much more than a simple streamed performance. This was focused energy. Energy that, to me, is very tangible. And now, more than ever, in an era where human interaction is so limited, art…be it music, visual, or otherwise, is a human connection point. And we need as much of that as possible! I hope everyone enjoys this as much as we enjoyed creating it.” Willie Adler, guitarist
