American hard rock band Into The Fire was conceived in 2013 by vocalist Bryan Scott (The Union Underground, Cult To Follow), bassist Tim King (SOiL) and guitarist Adam Zadel (SOiL). Long time friend Will Hunt (Evanescence) was brought in on drums soon after.
So what resulted? So far, just the two songs plus an “alternative version” of one of them – plus a video which will be released at around the same time (September 30th). On the strength of what we have here, a full album simply has to be in the works.
“Spit You Out” brings back instant memories of the sadly missed Union Underground. If I hadn’t known of Scott’s involvement, I’d have still picked up on the influence. The sound is tempered somewhat by the other band members’ input, but there’s definitely that edge. It’s a superb track in its own right, too. Dirty, catchy, blistering solos… instant hit.
“From the Medicine” is a little more laid back in its approach, still rocking but more like heavy alternative. With a catchy chorus it’s another example of what we could have waiting for us if the band takes off, but it’s “Spit You Out” that’s sold this band to me. It’s this track which will feature in the video and rest assured we’ll have it up here as soon as we can.
